at my school im surrounded by guy gamers, its so much fun because there nicer to the girl gamers to some of the other guys. a good example of how nice it can be sometimes

Well, that's true. Like when I was playing soccer a few days ago and was a goalie - I suspect that the guys on the other team didn't really give their all when they tried to make a goal. In one way it makes me a bit cross - I don't like when people go easy on me because of my gender - but on the other hand it made it easier to catch the balls which made me look like a boss goalie. Soooo I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrit sometimes XD

I've met a couple of nerd guys who've made comments about how girl gamers 'don't exist', and 'I wish I could met a girl who likes games', and etc etc. Dude, we are not rare and special. It's not hard to find a girl who enjoys gaming.

Being a little bit older than you it is a bit harder for me to let go of the idea that we are rare. I guess it comes from back in the day, we were sort of, even if it's not true anymore...
I think the worst thing I've ever come across though is the idea that to be a true 'gamer' you have to be not only into darker games, but be on a quest to be even 'better than the boys". Can't just having fun playing games count equally?

I only play sometimes with a friend since that's all he does. I've been trying for a while but I kinda suck. I scramble straight foward, shooting in every direction hoping to kill them before they kill me. If there were wars here I would be picked as a kamikaze or suicide bomber I guess.

Nice XD Yeah, some games have me react in the same way - I panic and starts shooting randomly all over the place. Or else I do a Gandalf - named after the time me and my sister played a LotR game and at one part we were playing as Gandalf who was surrounded by orchs. We panicked and started to run, and didn't stop running until we've reached the goal XD

What can I say? you're spot on xD and "you play like a girl"?! Shit, my friend Jannike whoops my ass at many games, so I don't think that's a bad thing. Oh yeah, and about those numbers you crunched there. They are pretty accurate. We learned of a similar study when I started my first year at game dev school little more than a year ago. The number of female gamers have boomed the last decade.

Yeah, well, I guess I make assumptions too, like when a guy tells me he knits a lot XD I mean, I think it's great that people do stuff without feeling restricted by their gender, but sometimes it can be unexpected.
Haha, ok! XD I have no problems with losing against either guys or girls, as long as they aren't... you know, all in your face about it.
And I thought people would question these numbers! Granted, there are games with higher percentage of men or women in their fanbase, but overall I think it's pretty even.

It's like any regular high school I guess, but we have a few special classes where we learn about everything from advanced programming to 3D modeling and animating 
Hence, living in Sweden, I don't think I'll have any trouble finding a job either

Honestly I don't really care that I'm a girl gamer. Its a fact. I am female. I play games. But I don't say it like its a big deal. I actually lol whenever I find myself at a game tournament surrounded by dudes. yeah, sure, its annoying when they poke fun at you for being a girl who games, but you know. Its life. LIFE HAPPENS.
