Description
**Final Piece Description**This portrays a woman falling for her friend. Yellow roses are meant to symbolize 'friendship'. Red roses are for that romantic passion. A feeling of endearment towards the recipient. The yellow petals descending and morphing into the red petals indicate her falling in love. As for the rose in her hair? It's depicting that her thoughts of that person blooms into something new and deeper. Same goes for her makeup; she's now gonna see this person as a rejuvenated image that just turns her on in a completely different way than before.
Um, this goes out to the 2 girls who made me feel this way about them. Those experiences made this art possible.
Tools: Pastel, Charcoal
If anyone can find the Zoe Saldana picture that looks like this...I would like to have the link.

Oh wow! i would imagine it is hard to mix charcoal with pastel, Just one missing little detail would be a small shine on the rose maybe? Or unless my eyes deceive me and its already there lol :] but very lovely piece, she looks very real and believable. GORGEOUS!

It is pretty hard at times...it's just that you have to know which layer to put down first. Or what doesn't mix very well. & yeah that rose was really tricky. I may go back to try to fix and tweak a few things.
But thank you very much!

Lol! yes the rubbing can get really tiring. Which is why I love those blending stumps. They come in a variety of sizes.

Lmao! Yes there are...they help a lot when you don't want to use your fingers. Because I know that it's really hard to wash out the excess stuff that gets into the grooves/prints of your fingers. When I have them though...it's best to seperate them. Some for colors...and others for black and white.

Very nice work there. Great use of the light and shade and the little bits of colour. Was the highlights in the hair scraped out?

Thank you very much...I would like to take credit for the shading but this was a picture of Zoe Saldana that I used for a reference; but I can't find it anywhere at all. & I used a sharp white pastel pencil for the hair highlights. Once again...thank you very much!
