Signed by artist - M. Gear
Mabel Gear became an animal painter after studying at the Colchester school of art. Her work was popular and she was well exhibited. Many of her pastels of dogs and cats were used to illustrate postcards, and many of these imbued with sentimentality were used for valentine cards.
