Description
Sleep did not come easy for the young steed.
And in the night he did not dream,
a conscious light was on in his head,
allowing him thoughts instead.
As that light went away,
it had already become day.
So the steed arose and ran.
As the early morning sun rose and last nights dew lingered,
a lone silhouette could be seen
racing across the meadow.
Long locks of hair followed a stallion as he ran,
unsure of a destination.
"Free at last to spread my wings"! The Red Bird sings.
"But to where do you venture young steed", the wild flowers question ringed.
"I follow the wind, like you! But to my prevail
I'm capable of following through".
And so the Cardinal flew, with guidance from the wind
for nothing is as true.

A dumb little poem for this first piece because I thought I'd try something new
