Description
Inspired by the many wonderful high mountains images that I see in the galleries, I had to try to create a similar one in Bryce. It is possible and not very difficult!Related content

I've used Bryce and I know that this probably took about a year or two to render.

Something you did wrong, or you had a very old computer.
It took about 30 min on a not very new computer, because there are no transparencies and soft shadows and only one light (sunlight) in the scene.

Very realistic indeed. I wonder only if the snow on the back is the same as on the front? The further one looks quite noisy and bumpy for me (like the bumpmap frequency was too high).

Thank you very much for the comment!
There are indeed different types of snow. On the foreground, in the flat valley the wind can blow very strong, ergo there is only a dusting of snow. On background there are deeper pans, the wind blows in and collect a thick snow pack.

Wow Simone! This is really incredible! The snow and rocky terrain look quite realistic. Especially when you look at the valley that is furthest back. It almost looks like you can see footprints! hehe Yea! You even captured the misty look when the wind blows and a wee bit of snow flies up in the air. Perfect job on your composition and lighting! You never cease to amaze me! Fantastic job my friend! weeeee!

Why do you think I should use Vue? It's not important which software you use, if you have a little bit skills and experience.
I visited your gallery - very beautiful landscapes!

thx a lot.well i just say it because i see you have skills!and you should put time in vue!you gonna be awsome.bryce just doesnt give the same quality as vue.it was just an advice...at the end its up to you
how ever,if you go to the eon homepage, you can download the free full version.give it a try!

The free version (pioneer) has too many limitations! For example, you cannot import 3d objects, which is the most important part for me, because I create a lot of 3d models. Take a trip through my whole gallery and you will find pretty detail 3d models, some of them downloadable, created by me!
Of course I tried Vue already and I know you have by far more possibilities than in Bryce, but the render engine is very slow and the finished results are often grainy.
I like the sharpness and clearness of Bryce renders!
People say often: What, you use still Bryce?! Yikes!!! You should use Vue, 3dsMax, C4D, Maya...
The reason is, I cannot purchase expensive software and I don't want to work professional. I use Bryce, Poser, Blender, SketchUp, Hexagon, Sculptris etc.
And I can create everything I want.

Good answer.Β I agree.Β People think Bryce isn't very good because there are just so many Bryce pictures posted by people who haven't bothered to study and learn what it can do.Β Plus, for people who think more abstractly, Bryce's interface is beautiful and so easy to use.

Bryce is one of the easiest 3d programs ever; I have tried a lot. Thanks for the nice words and watching!

Bravo! I applaud each your word!
You not the first Brycer which hears such offers.
One my acquaintance Brycer has told:
If you love children you should use Vue. In the Vue children turn out very well.
If you enjoy the process of production of children, then stay in Bryce.
