Description
A small flash animation I did for class. The flag was quickly done with the new bones feature in Flash CS4. Gosh, that thing lags so much. I've decided to upload this because I actually like it. It originally has music to go with it. Warcraft music to be exact, which was what inspired me to do this theme. Background was done in Photoshop.Related content

I wonder which Warcraft track inspired you to do this. Because it's really awesome. xD It'd make a great background for something, I think. butyeah. I'm in love with this.

Can I ask, how specifically you did the flashy flying things?
And are the clouds done outside of flash? if it was done in flash mind telling me how you did that to?
You don't have to if you don't wanna explain it, I'm just curious though

basically, i did most of the graphics in Photoshop and animated and looped in Flash. the flag was done in Flash CS4 using the new bones feature, but it was insanely laggy working with that tool. XD

Okay, so the flashy things were just frame by frame in photoshop, yes?
Sprites basically?

oh no. they are just single images. the bg is one image, the fog is two images, the flag is a shape, and the flares are movie clips. i motion-tweened them all in an infinite loop. x3

That's what I meant, the flares you did frame by frame in photoshop, imported to flash and put into a movie clip, yes?

hmmmmm~~ i would like to make a tutorial, but i don't really have a single way to do backgrounds. for this pic, basically, i had a base of the ground, added lighting and shading according to a light source from the background, and then added smaller details such as the weapons and helmet. i also used the dodge tool for areas closer to the light source to create that blinding glow effect.
i hope this helps you~! ^U^

in photoshop, the dodge tool basically lightens areas. the burn tool basically darkens areas. there are three options for each of these tools: midtones, shadows, highlights. different options lightens/darkens differently. you should give it a try on a practice canvas sometime. or you can just not use it and simply brush with a lighter colour. ^^
