Poe is an enigma to me. That’s probably why I return to him time and time again for inspiration. I thrive off of mystery and Poe in life and death is one.

When I found out that his greatest enemy wrote his original biography, it made me question everything that I knew about him. Everything negative that is. I read that some of his contemporaries did not see him as a drunk.

Was he melancholic and sad or misunderstood? A man content but not overly excited. He lived through many tragedies that would break most. I would give him a little slack to allow room for some melancholy.
