Another part of my story, which I will now call "The Seven Swans" this scene is Josefine, who is new to the palace when the brothers and Eliza's father bring her home, is humiliated at a party due to not knowing the customs of the new kingdom she has arrived to. As she storms off and the King yells at the guests, Eliza goes to find her to comfort her to assure her that what the guests say is nonsense and that she understands trying to fit in as she's still learning herself as a princess, but Josefine not liking that the man she is to marry has seven children and in her insecurity lashes out at Eliza, terrifying the young girl who is trying to help and get along with the woman her father is to marry and will have to acknowledge as her stepmother despite the sudden announcement from her father as she just met this woman not to long ago.

"...What did you just say?" Josefine hissed in a low voice.

Eliza blinked, confused and worried at her soon to be stepmothers words and icy tone, all she could let out was a, "Huh?"

That made Josefine more mad.

"Are you implying that I'm some uneducated forest bumpkin that doesn't know how to handle herself in front of those who are wealthier in status as I am!? That I don't know what I'm doing or how to entertain those shallow ponce's who got lucky from birth!?"

Eliza, alarmed at Josefine's temper, quickly tries to diffuse the situation, "N-no that's what I meant! I understand how you feel, there are times where I feel like I don't fit in either, but those nobles don't know what they're talking about and I found their behavior towards you tonight absolutely disgusting! You didn't deserve to have those things said to you!"

"Really now!?" Josefine roared, "That's rich coming from you! You were born a Princess! You have more opportunities than I do because you were lucky enough to be born into royalty, you and those brutes you call brothers! While I count myself lucky that your father wants to marry me, you still have the upper hand than I do! Do you think your words mean anything to me?! I know what the likes you actually think of someone like me! I grew up with NOTHING especially from the wars that reigned in these lands for centuries with your ancestors help in the name of securing power for the Supreme Monarchy, which is why you have the privilege to be a spoiled blue blood brat today!"

Eliza felt her heart begin to beat faster, sweat falling on her cheek and tears swelling up in her eyes as her future stepmothers wrath began to grow, and the hurtful words had cut deep into the princess who wanted to welcome her stepmother despite the chaos.

Josefine continued as she towered over the princess, "You listen to me! I will be the queen of this land very soon, and I have no intention of letting those nobles look down on me for one second and I will make them pay for their insults from tonight once I wed your father and the crown is placed on my head, and I certainly have no intention of being your stepmother or even act like one to you or those boys, if you want any motherly affection go to your mothers tombstone, or better yet...."

Josefine took a step forward, making the princess cower in fear as she looked into those angry blue eyes that glowed from fury in the light.

"Why don't you join her? Because I would never claim such a stupid, worthless and incompetent girl like you as my daughter or stepdaughter. The only value you have is a pretty face that your father wants to sell to any man who would actually marry you! Other than that, you are nothing of use to your father or this kingdom!"

Eliza couldn't believe what she was hearing, each word Josefine said would be like cuts on her body from a blade. If it were, fresh blood would be all over the young princess's body.

"Don't EVER tell me what to think or do again! I don't need to be patronized by the likes of you!" Josefine storms off as she continued huffing from anger.

Meanwhile, Eliza had tears in her eyes as the harsh words from Josefine have crushed whatever self esteem she had left.
