Description
The image or idea of fish flying through the air has been done a lot I'm sure. I thought it would be fun to try to catch those fish. Drawing the inflatable fish lure was the most fun for me in this one. This is a 9x12 watercolor on bristol paper. I hope you enjoy it.Related content

I like your head. Your ideas flows well,
and the concepts seem so easy to catch,
like fishes,
like flying fishes.
Keep working.

lol! Great stuff! Nice colors, perspective, and very cool idea. Those are some gutsy fishermen to be tackling those large fish in such a small boat

Awesome! How often do the balloons pop before they manage to catch the fish I wonder...

Probably a lot. This, I think, would be the most frustrating job there is.

Yeah, most likely.

thanks. I did several sketchbook versions of this working on the perspective and even erased the original a few times until I felt like I got it close enough.

Do these flying fish dive to take a breath underwater??
I love that the floating lure has a gondola.

Hmmm, I'm going to say they breath air and sleep up in the trees. That way I can do a sequel to this with a bunch of flying fish attacking an army in the forest or mountains.

But if they don't need to breath water, why are the fisherman out in a boat & how do they know the flying fish will be there?
Ah, wait! Same reason lions hang around waterholes!
I look forward to fish vs. army.

i like the colours and how sketchy it looks...maybe add a bit more brightness to some subjects on the picture to make it pop but otherwise amazing job!!

I agree. I missed getting the bright colors in there. Even my wife pointed that out. This is a frequent problem for me with watercolors.
