Oh look here, isn't it pretty? It's a snake ring-OH SHIT IT MOVED. I found this californian garter snake in the sun outside, couldn't resist picking it up. Yes, I knew it was a gartner snake, from experience. I will not pick up an unknown snake. And no, it didn't bite. And yes, I washed my hands before AND after I picked it up. I couldn't help but feel like Lord Voldemort when I picked it up. Had my Mom take a picture.Mentioned in my journal, here: [link]

1. It's Gartersnake, not gartner snake, but I'll forgive you the typo (though I suspect the stray N was not a typo, as many mistakenly call it a "gardener" snake, and confused people then mash garter and gardener into gartner.)
2. That's a ringneck snake, Diadophis punctatus.
Not that it much matters, a snake that size could never pierce your skin anyways. Not to say that baby venemous snakes are to be trifled with, but, well, in this particular case its head is just too small.
Anyway, this was 4 years ago. I trust you've got your animals straight since then.
