johns kinda mysterious in some senses and several of them dont make exact sense, but when he was younger he was relatively suicidal and at a decent risk of safety, so the flame on the ankle and the ribcage tattoos are more or less markers to specific incidents as personal reminders of such and that hes doin alright at his current age. typically when asked about those ones john can get a bit avoidant, though not too markedly so as to make himself noticed

shrugs loudly tbh anyone who ever draws john ever shouldnt worry about the arm sleeve in exact detail so long as it generallllly looks liiiike thaaaaaat-ish
