More snow today, which looks mostly like rain in the pictures I took on the biggest non-military cemetery in the world in Hamburg, the Friedhof Ohlsdorf .

Since my mother´s burial in the summer of 2006, I haven´t been to the place. Part of me was afraid of the painful memories, another part felt no need to visit the grave because I know she was not there, and so I never went. Today I finally decided to postpone this visit no longer. To my relief, it was not painful, just interesting.

I really love this park cemetary, which is huge, full of hidden statues, old tombstones, mausoleums, sculptures, and, of course, graves. It is a good reminder that our time here on earth is limited.

I admired this angel´s patience, standing in the snow irremovable, untouched, while it slowly decays.
