I'm just...expecting mine to take years and years and YEARS idk I have a concept that i really like and some characters I know I want to use but executing it! damn! it's a lot of stuff to make and i have no idea how to program so...

Yeah, If you're going for an adventure based game I'd recommend Adventure Game Studio. There's a lot of resources in the help manual and it's pretty easy to get going. You can basically make any game in ags too tbh.
