It reminds me of a friend who would make me watch all of her holiday pictures, because she had a Reflex or something, but her pictures sucked... and I didn't want to upset her so I just watched. (we're not friends anymore, but it had nothing to do with the pictures)

I wrote my little thought as a journal right now
My EOS is a reflex too, and you can make some great pictures with them, but when I take that one with me (with all of the additional equipment) it is one Backpack and nearly 6kg
so I have my little compact with me instead, andake the big one on planned phototours

I can't imagine carrying all that (I'm a bit lazy). This morning, when I went to make that shot you commented on, I had to walk through steep fields and bushes, I didn't really need more weight on my back!
You can go scouting with your compact first. I don't have that issue, but I do go scouting without costumes/make-up... first and then go back when the weather allows it. I got lucky this morning, the sun hid just as I was done (and now it's raining).
