Description
"I can't help it, I love you like a starfish loves the salty water (...) Foolish, how was I so carelessPawning off my treasure (...)
How can I reclaim it?
What if someone's got it?"
This all started with a doll-like girl... I can't remember where the swan came up, but suddenly the sketch line of its wings seemed like the salmon piece over the rice in a sushi piece.
I wanted it to be quick to use it on the journal, but in the end I liked it pretty much and I thought it deserved a background, and a story behind.
The references are very obvious this time, based it all in classic ukiyo-e paintings: clouds, mountains, even the cherry tree with its blossoms in the air.
Hope you like it!

Wow, just perfect! What I like the most is the background and the tree. Could you please tell me where did you get the brush?

Thanks! Sorry for the late answer. I really can't remember what I used exactly to paint that, but I made a journal entry about where download most of the brushes I use. Just dig a bit if you still need it, are lots of great brushes in there!

Do very much like that chibi atmosphere to this picture - really does just give off an entire aura of cute, and that works out fine. The line does look a bit sketchy in comparison to the very smooth, vector-ish background, but you've done a great job none-the-less, and I applaud you for that.
Great work

Wow... this kind of comments make an illustrator day You are right about the line, now with a bit of distance It appears very clear to me that the contrast between styles is too much high. Anyway, I apreciate a lot your coment and I am so glad you like it despite the fails ^______________^

It's very different from what you're usually doing, it's quite impressive to see how you could be comfortable with diffent styles.
And please don't worry for late answers, I've done worse than that

The style of the clouds clash a bit with the textures of the other elements. Still, it's an amazing painting.

I think they would blend better if they were as textured as the other elements but it's really a minor elements. I only noticed it because I spent several minutes staring at the picture .
