I think I got down how I want Skulker to look for Gun Dog.I feel like this is getting out of hand and I don't even care. Is it bad that I've never wanted to make a fan comic as badly as I want to for this? Usually I'm not terribly into fancomics, but I really want to make this one. XD *Tosses sparkles then shuffles off to work on actual work.*

Yeah, I know I could lose the original IP, but I just love the characters, you know? It would take a fair bit of effort to rewrite all of the characters and clip it totally away from the original story, since a lot of it still does revolve around the inherent DP story right now. :/ It would take a lot of rewriting to make what's in my head not obviously a DP story. XD

I'M tempted to make the fancomic! I love the redesigns! But I couldn't do it, for one my art style would clash horrible with the darker tone of your redesign. And I am not good at making stories dark.
But if I were someone with enough money, I would ask/commission you for a short story comic of this redesign, because, gosh darn it, it's awesome!

You know, I never even watched Danny Phantom, and the only reason I know anything about it is your fanart here and my friend Obi-quiet has told me about it because she loves it so much. But if you were to do a fancomic, I would be totally interested in reading it. Because the truth is, your character creating and storytelling abilities makes people love your characters. I love seeing you post pictures of your OC's because they're so interesting and vivid, and the same goes for fanart!

It's the spirit of the 'Phandom'... there is just something about Danny Phantom that inspires people.Β There is just something there with a lot of potential that wasn't full realized in the series.Β It can go in so many different directions and inspire all kinds of different stories, (some original enough to stand on there own) and it is one of the reason I like the fandom so much.

It's true. It does seem to inspire a ton of different interpretations. It's just such an interesting concept that I can't help but imagine what it could have been, had circumstances been different for the show's creation.Β And as much as I enjoyed the show, I always felt it was under-realized. Like, they didn't really know what a good idea they had and opted to just make it a quirky, goofy kid's show. But it's such a muse to work with and it inspires so many interesting spinoff and rewrite ideas.Β I just love the idea of a half-ghost ghost hunter. Such a sweet concept that I wish had been created under different conditions.Β Like, I'm not really much of an anime buff, but part of me wishes DP had been created as an anime. Purely for the fact that I think they would have been less afraid to age up the story and deal with heavier subject matter, since Japan doesn't really have the "animation is only for children" stigma that America has. Like, can you imagine how different DP would be if had been created with mindset of Fullmetal Alchemist or Attack on Titan? Like, if it had been made without that fear of being "too scary" or "too intense" for children? I just think it could have been so cool, and I hate to see wasted potential.
I guess I just think Danny was too cool for the network that created him. XD

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it had a lot to do with the conditions
it was made under. Nick was focused on making a show for kids, and I don't even think
Avatar the Last Air Bender, a show that did eventually grow with it's audience, had even aired
yet when DP was coming to a close.Β In other words, they were just starting to put out
a series that could be both goofy and mature when Danny Phantom abruptly ended.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing a re-boot of the series so long as it was put in the right hands!Β
We know Nickelodeon has some good writers and and artist from the Avatar series, including The
Legend of Korra, and there's no shortage of people with good ideas from the Danny Phantom fandom,
your Gun Dogs AU being a great example!
I'd definitely would look forward to even seeing one mockup page for your AU!
