Late night doodle. I wanted to draw a pokemon I hadn’t ever drawn before, but I also wanted to draw Mouse. But the great thing about him having a ditto is I can literally draw Mouse with any pokemon I want. Aww yeah. So Goop gets to be a shiny doublade for this image. Which, doublade is my favorite from the X/Y gen (and really, just one of my favorites in general now. I never evolved mine because I like this middle evo so much better). I just think the idea of possessed ghost swords is super cool (for when Mouse ain’t got time to stab people himself I guess).
Except I had this neat idea that maybe doublade and its other line members, instead of all looking identical, might resemble blades from their area of origin. Like, one in Japan might resemble katanas, while a doublade from the Middle-East might resemble scimitars, etc. So for this image, since Mouse is of Irish heritage, I decided to go with Celtic style longswords. I also imagine that when the eyes on the swords close and they aren’t levitating, they just look like normal, everyday swords. Since I figure the spectral “ribbon” ghost arm can appear and disappear at will. Sneaky sneaky.

Ah, I haven't played Breath of the Wild, since I don't own a Switch or a WiiU, and I usually only do fanart of things I've seen/played firsthand. Maybe someday if I ever get the system to play it on, but probably not any time soon, since I'm trying to avoid spoilers for the game. XD

oh, yeah I can see the similarity. Never played Wakfu. I always see the art and think it looks nice, but then when I go look at the actual game... it looks boring. XD

Ah so much potential here! It reminds me of the Aurors tv show spoof they did a few years back. If only we could take this idea of a more adult or realistic Pokemon and put it into practice ooooh man! It won't happen, but we can dream. And you sir help me dream. Thank you.

I'm not a "sir" but thank you! ;D And yes, I would love if they made a more adult spin off of pokemon. Since so much of the fanbase is older now, it seems sensible to do at least something for the older audience. At least, in my opinion.

Thank you very much! And yeah, it just makes sense to me that Doublade would have regional differences. Because they're supposed to be "disguised" so it would be weird if they disguised themselves as a type of sword that was really out of place in its surroundings.

I was really hoping Doublade's evo would just add more blades. Like, it might be a ring of 4-6 swords or something. Aeigslash disappoints me. -3-
