Description
This time I've drawn Yondu Udonta from "Guardians of the Galaxy". First of all, I am a big fan of GotG! I'm in loooove with both James Gunn movies and I'm obsessed with this Yondu character (and I also have a crush on Michael Rooker , by the way). And secondly, I had to test my new photoshop brush set which imitates traditional art brushes.
On my Patreon I added a new tier for $10. It will include all the Tier5 rewards and a bonus reward. Bonus reward might include a new brush pack, a quick video tutorial or an extra time lapse video of another artwork. Depending on my inspiration, lol ^^
This time I made for Tier10 super cool 16 photoshop brushes that imitate traditional art look. I have a lot of fun using them. The drawings now look more textured and rough and I love this effect! I really satisfied with the result. Hope you will join my Patreon and love these brushes too

oh, yes, I'm back! So sorry for not updating for a long time.
as for tracing, I don't trace and have never done. as for references, sure, sometimes I use several images for inspiration (kind of moodboard) and sometimes I use pose/light/objects refs if needed.

I can't recommend you which media is better, because it's all individual. traditional skills, of course is a plus, as well as 3d nowadays. same thing with traditional artists without digital art skills. so it's all up to your passion and time.
as for me, to be honest I'm not very good in traditional art. once I've started draw digital I got a strange thing called fear of blank paper page, lol. so I have to practice more because I'd like to be confident in both media.
