As for the magazine, empty as it may seem... it might be the one that is being removed from the gun. The last mag not visible in the photograph, just in the back of the GI's mind.

Indeed, the idea that I was intending on getting across is that, that "WAS" the last mag. In an attempt to instill a kind of "Oh crap" feeling. Regardless, I appreciate the kind words greatly

Haha yup I wanted it to seem like the mag in the picture "WAS" the last mag. That way as the viewer you're looking to your comrade to see if all is well and he's taking out his last magazine and its empty which, at least in my point of view as the composer of the image instills a kind of dark edgy uneasy-ness. Glad you like the image all the same though!

Sorry for posting on this twice... but now that I have my thoughts together:
Not only is this photo well lit, perfectly focused, beautifully staged, the realism and emotion in this photo are nearly tangible. You can nearly feel the model's anxiety and determination to survive from the way he holds the weapon in his hand to the way he holds the empty magazine and the tension visible in his neck. You more than deserve exposure for this piece, this should be hanging in a gallery.

although I agree with most of this statement, there is one glaring flaw. You are too clean. Your helmet is clean, your hands are clean, your fingernails are clean, your gun, your uniform. Man, if you were dirty and gritty and sweaty, this would be perfect...
