Hard question! I loved the original series and the end of evangelion.. But the rework is awesome too, specially the second movie.. If I have to choose I think on this movies like the definitive version, but there is one more movie to come and without release date yet.....

I prefer the original, idk it was just much more focused on the character development and also the psychological aspect. I didn't watch the series for the action scenes, they where awesome indeed but i also loved the hole rest of it.
