The whole experience felt surreal.
It’d only been about two hours since he got the call at work, saying you were going into labour. He got there as fast as he could, breaking quite a few laws to reach the hospital in time. And yet, here he is, watching you hold and cradle a baby girl.
His baby girl..
He couldn’t hide the awe from his navy blue hues, expressing his love and happiness for both you and the child. He was happy there were no complications as he’d heard some pregnancies can have healthy issues. But when he saw how happy and tired you were, he couldn’t stop his heart from thudding against his chest.
You looked up at him, happy tears swelling in your eyes at the soft and gentle expression he gave to the two of you. Looking down at the little bundle in your arms, you leaned in, lips caressing the tiny forehead, fingers skimming the skin with a tender touch.
Turning to look back at him, you grinned, feeling his hand on your shoulder as he kissed your cheek in happiness.
“Would you like to hold her Daiki?”
Your words seemed to snap him out of his trance, choosing to sit beside you in the bed. He was cautious not to bump or hit you, but he nodded his head, watching as you placed the girl in his arms. When the little girl slightly opened her eyes, revealing his navy blue hues, he found his breath hitching and he just stared for a very long time.
And that’s when he knew; he fell in love all over again.
