I used high speed film 1600 b & w Fuji film with a zoom lens...the combination can cause graininess...

yeah... but i don't know film cameras. Is ISO adjustable?

I personally never tried it...but have read that some photographers have done it with mixed results...

In a bright/sunny environment 200/300 ISO is best. The darker the environment, the bigger the number (like 1600 for evenings). I don't know if it's adujstable on film, but if you set it appropriately for your environment, your image won't be grainy. I once had ISO 1600 for a sunny day and my image had a looooot of grain.
