This girl's video tutorial is much more comprehensible than my lime green mess, but personally I think her choice in ADORABLE SCRAPBOOK PAPER leaves something to be desired. [link]So I learned how to bind books like this a couple years ago and figured I'd make a tutorial because a) I have friends who wanted to learn, b) it's kind of a handy skill and c) I'm nursing a minor addiction to DIY tumblrs .u. Also SAVE THE TREES!
I've salvaged about 500 sheets of single-sided paper from my schoolnotes that I'm going to repurpose into Christmas gifts for my fronds : D (also I'm freaking broke)As for that last notebook I included a few photos of, I got the idea to use all manner of scrap paper from a girl selling books like these at a farmer's market. Thing is, hers were $50 apiece despite being literally made of garbage, and I was able to gather the materials for my own in a matter of minutes (I wouldn't call myself a hoarder but I do tend to hang onto things with the slightest hope of being useful, lol, so even slightly-used paper is plentiful in my supply cache). Also my cover SPARKLES.

Awesome! That looks kind of like coptic binding(one of my FAVORITE stitches!) which is a nice sturdy stitch. Those books will serve you well.

I actually wanted to bind books for a while, so this is awesome tutorial~ I didn't read all of it *shot*, but this is what I'll be referencing when I need to bind books! I actually hoard XD it's really bad, I hate throwing anything away.
But SPARKLES ARE DEFINITELY THE BEST. I love your hobbies~ They're so USEFUL!

Oh my god me too, I hang on to things for soooo long. I think if I hadn't moved recently and had to throw out a bunch of stuff I would still have a lot of junk everywhere!!

Or worse - IF THEY THREW AWAY MY CANDY/CHOCOLATE. Sometimes I keep chocolate bars in my room when I'm feeling greedy XD. But if they threw it away because they thought it was old, I'd be so sad.
