Oh wow. This photo is extremely striking to me, and I can't really put my finger on it? Is it perhaps the focus and... god, the one class on photography that I've taken has escaped me now... nevermind.
I just find this photo actually pretty breathtaking, and I can honestly see it somewhere on perhaps a book cover, or an album cover or the sorts. It's very gorgeous in an original way.
Anyway, had to comment and add the favorite. Surprised no one else has added this as a favorite also.

The concept you may be looking for is "depth of field". That's the total limit of what is in focus (versus what isn't).

thanks darling. The focus was fairly intentional. However, I didn't count on the fact that the background would make that distinct of a demarcation from the foreground.
Nonetheless, it ended up looking neat.
