Guys, gals, and Mesopotamian pals, make way for—drumroll… TZIRA-KAHL, the will-kill-you epic junglepunk princess!!

Wowee, this is a wild one. Is there too much going on? Probably. Did I severely struggle with all the weird textures? Absolutely? Do I still love her? For now…

So, for those who missed it, this is based on the winning moodboard from my 100 watchers celebration contest!! , made by Mauricio-Psy! I LOVED this board so much, and it gave me so many ideas!! Thank you again for participating with this awesome board, Mauricio! (I am still working on your prize I promise, it’s almost done~)

Anyway, like I said, lots of tricky textures in this one. The big flower in her hair is supposed to be made of copper, but it was so hard to get it to look even remotely like it The stone on her face was also an interesting challenge, but I think it at least reads more clearly. Oh, and her right eye I wanted to make mechanical to really lean into the -punk-ness, but that was hard too. Some effects are just not made for colored pencil…

But all in all she’s gorgeous she’s my dream, she’s a combination of a lot of things I really love. green is my absolute FAVORITE so doing her hair was a dream (though I ranted about the hairstyle in my Jungle princess WIP post).
As I also mentioned there, in the beginning she looked like she could be the daughter of Tzekel-Kan from Dreamworks’ The Road to El Dorado, and her name is phonetically inspired by his.
But she is also, with the stone skin and golden eye, a nod to the Goyl species from one of my favorite series, Reckless by Cornelia Funke. Love her so much.

I will most likely be turning this (and the first mushroom one) into a coloring page as well! And once I put that up, if anyone wants to color her as fully Tzekel-Kan’s non-canonical daughter, I would LOVE to see that!
