I love your water-fruit series.
I have always wanted to do some of these myself and thanks to this series and the light set-up picture I got some inspiration for it, so thank you.

Mmmmmmm, sweet, sweet jelly like textured lychee of doom fruit (hurting deep inside due to lack of reachable lychee).

yum, i love lychees! It looks awesome Olly, I love how clean and bright it is. These water/fruit shots have bcome your signature I think. You should do something really spiky, like a buddha's hand, or an unpeeled chestnut

Ahh, a lychee! I've never actually seen or tasted the whole fruit, I've only had soda and candy flavored after it, and I really like the flavor. Mmm..

These could work well for advertisement sort of things.

You like to mess with the minds of your adoring watchers, don't you? Always keeping us on our toes. Because from you, I'd have learned to expect something as ridiculous as a banana in the next one. Instead, I get this 'lychee,' as you say. What on Earth is a lychee (and please don't say it's that, heh)?
I'd have hoped the interesting texture would force up more interesting bubbles than it did. I say find a really obscure fruit and try it with that. Like a pineapple. Yeah, that'd be ideal.
I'm sure you could take it on. Really. I think so. Maybe a coconut? A plantain? Perhaps even a fish?

I don't comment well on series. They being series, they tend to be similar, which would serve to explain the similitude of my comments. I'm trying, I promise.

Go for that pineapple!

hehe yes, playing with minds is fun
a coconut or a pineapple would be really nice but then i need complete differen equipment and a hooge fishtank...

lychee: [link]

chafe In reply to tfprince [2005-01-11 06:11:43 +0000 UTC]

That was highly educational.

"The red rind turns dark brown when the fruit is refrigerated..." Explains why yours wasn't the lovely Asian red.
"One lychee = three torches of fire... Over-consumption of lychees is reported to lead to dried lips and nose bleed in some people." How very cool. We need hostile fruits like that in North America. I see why you chose it for your fruit series.

Since you're going for smaller fruits (and not pineapples or coconuts), there's the rambutan. Looks like sea urchins, but it does follow the obscure sect. [link] Check it out, you may like it.

I really do love these shots. I also fully appreciate how you willingly divulge the way you did these photos. I only have one question what the crap is a lychee?
