Those eyes look somehow "innocent", like its acting against its own will or doesnt understand what it's doing. For the victims it probably just adds in to the terror if you cant even feel hate towards the thing which is coming for you.

I don't want to offend you or the makers of the awesome game That Which Sleeps, but... Azlan? seriously? an abominable entity like this one deserves a more fitting name... something unspeakable, like Yiggughath, Ydheeh or Shothogga.

Yes, a lion that appears in some of the books of the Chronicles of Narnia series is named Azlan... but calling a eldritch entity like this one of "Azlan" is ridiculous. Besides, I never liked of the Chronicles of Narnia.
