Description

It's been a while since I posted anything new of Hama, the genie OC co-developed by myself and Tirquaz , but while digging through my files today I turned up this piece I knocked out last autum. It's not quite perfect since her skin looks more greyish than the bubblegum purple/blue it is meant to be, but I think the results have a certain charm - she comes across here as a little older and wiser, someone who's had time to settle into her role as a genie and explore her powers and transformed self

Hama of the Lamp (Part 1)
THE PRESENT DAY
A University Somewhere in Jordan
A dry breeze blew through the open windows, carrying the smells of the city market into the shared apartment. The scents of food and spices filled the air, and the last rays of the evening sun glinted on every mote of dust that danced between floor and ceiling.
The light shone brightest of all on an oil lamp, one that sat on a carved wooden stand in the centre of the room. Both seemed out of place compared to the rest of the apartment, furnished as it with whatever could be scavenged from market stalls or university thrift stores. The golden rays reflected off the polished surface of the lamp, scattering flecks of light across the walls, which were decorated with posters, lecture notes and project timetables.
The dancing rays seemed to linger briefly on a photograph, pinned in the centre of a corkboard over two desks that flanked the sole window. It showed two young women smiling for the camera, arms round each other’

And yes, this was created in the same dollmaker where I turned out another previous work Djinni Princess (Halad and the Serpent)

Character by Tirquaz and myself

Artwork created in 'Dark Mage Creator' by Pichichama , published by Rinmaru Games

I always liked how you drew her - seeing variations in how Hama's design is interpreted and reinvented is really rewarding!

She does look a little more confident here, more mature. The little hip push, her skirt and her more revealing upper part of her body does indicate certitude on her part.

That's like the sole pose the dollmaker could do, but the results speak for themselves

I think this is also the sole time to date where Hama has been depicted in a dress!

Indeed, usually she has her tail or her bedlah/harem pants. It kinda suits her to have a wardrobe, though. No sense in always wearing the same outfit, after all.
