Description
I want to write about youAbout my feelings for you
About all I do because of you
But would that truly be about you?
What even could I say?
How happy I always am to see you?
How you make all the pain go away?
How dearly I miss you?
And how I wish you would stay?
Or simply how much I love you?
Shall I put it in a cheesy metaphor?
Say you are like the sunrise after a dread-filled night?
Or make references to poets greater than I?
Compare you to a summer’s day or the lost Lenore?
Alas, I will do no such thing
Words cannot do any justice to a painting
The written language cannot express what’s going on in my head and heart
Cannot portray the vortex of this mental mess nor covey the beauty of your art
Everything would be untrue
Nothing would suffice
Anything would be be too much
The cosmos does not hold any words to describe
the unfathomable chaos that you cause in my mind
Thus not one verse I will write about you
Instead I will do just as I always do
And simply write about myself
For how could I depict anything else?

I love this! It's so pretty~ You have great diction.
...This reminds me of when I have a squish... I guess that's kinda my interpretation of it...

Thank you for your kind words
Making it about your sqish work quite well, too. Didn't even see that.

You are very welcome
Well, I'm glad that interpretation works! People usually tell me my interpretations of poetry is wrong

They tell me the same. I sometimes wonder how many would still say I'm wrong if I wrote an interpretation for my own texts without them knowing I'm the author.
Or how much of my texts get completely overinterpreted
Text interpretation can be interestig, but if anybody acts like they know what the text is objectively about and claim every other interpretation is wrong, they're plain old ignorant.
Unless it's confirmed by the author.
More importantly, just because the author may have meant one thing, does't mean you can't see something else in a text or any work of art.

One of my teachers in middle school had a friend where that happened to him. He wrote a poem about a decaying dead hedgehog he found on the sidewalk and published it. He later went to a university for some reason (I heard the story a long time ago, so I can't remember why he was there), and heard a professor talking about its deeper meaning and how the hedgehog was a metaphor. The guy walked in and asked, "But what if the poem was just about a hedgehog?" the professor started screaming at him because he was "ignorant" and "didn't understand the poem"... so yeah, they might say your interpretation of your own poem is wrong.
I agree with people acting like they know more about a poem's meaning than others. It's ignorant, and really obnoxious (or, that's been my experience at least).
That's a good point about seeing other things in text/art. Just because the author/artist meant it to be one way doesn't mean it couldn't be interpreted another way.

Would have been awesome if he could have shown it's his own work

It would have been. I don’t remember what happened after that, since it was so long ago. Which is unfortunate, because I’ve always liked that story for some reason.
