Description
Decided to go back and revisit my fem kaiju, Azayla (still not 100% content with the name). Tried to give her a design that was more... unique than the last one... but still have some of the same basic concepts/shapes.Originally wanted to give this new version of her 'dual dorsal fins', but it just looked... awkward. So opted to just make said 'fin' reach down to her tail. Added some new details (the belly color stretches up to her chin, knees are more pointy, etc.)
Hope this looks good. Hope everyone likes it.

I still think that giving her a more streamlined appearance would help if she's supposed to be an amphibious kaiju. Maybe look at how a Crocodile or an Alligator's body is made, it may help give you an idea of how a semi-aquatic reptile's body is made

while i appreciate the help, that's never really been an issue in the world of Kaiju. Godzilla's semi-aquatic and he looks the LEAST streamlined of all. XD

so strange, isn't it? XD Godzilla has no gills, nothing at all to suggest his partial-adaptation to an aquatic environment... yet he even frikkin SLUMBERS underwater.

Want it to be different than the usual 'fire breath'/'fire balls' thing. Maybe electrical in nature? Poisonous spit? I dunno.
Hoping to work more on her in the coming months.

Hmmm, she seemed pretty interesting I have to say. There are far too few badass and original female kaiju, they tend to be vastly overshadowed by their male counterparts. She still could use a bit more tweaking in my opinion but I do think she could prove to be a very grand character.

most badass one is Nemesis from Jeremy Robinson's books and that Colossal Kaiju Combat project.

Very nice. I just saw Pacific Rim last night and I think that was the term they used to describe the monsters.

yeah... ever since the internet really caught on, us giant monster nerds have kinda co-opted the term 'Kaiju' from the Japanese.
Pretty soon everything associated with giant monsters, even if they weren't Japanese in origin (like King Kong, or Yongarry) were Kaiju. That or if they want to be sticklers, they use the proper term 'Daikaiju', which basically means 'Giant Monster' or 'Large Strange Creature' or something.
