Description Wow, thank you so much for all the views and favs! Much thanks! I appreciate it!

EDIT 1/24/11: FINALLY updated!!! I've been wanting to do this for over a year and I finally got the motivation to do so! I think the improvement was definitely needed!
Credit for the feral (wolf) form goes to . I used her free wolf template: fav.me/d36n7hl Thanks!

EDIT 12/12/14: You can finally color the male and female linearts!!!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy! I really had fun re-doing this! I'm surprised and honored at how popular this guide has become, so thank you all so very much for your support!

This goes right along with the Werewolves 101 Guide!
Werewolves 101Werewolves 101 (according to me)
About Werewolves
They are simply humans with the ability to shift into a werewolf or wolf. To some, its the other way around. The human is actually their mask, or camouflage. It is what keeps them safe from man (who they believe are the real enemies), though not all werewolves believe in this.
Werewolves have two basic forms, the feral (wolf) form, which is the natural wolf to blend in better with nature and their ancestors, then there is the anthro form, which is the bipedal werewolf form.
Werewolves take pride in their heritage and prefer to live in the wild like their ancestors, the wolves, do. Some prefer to live in packs, others on their own. They need to stay safe from humanity and their identities must be kept secret.

Werewolf Mythology
     According to very old legends,

Easily agree with most of the comments I see, this is just plain Awesome . Lots of these traits are exactly the sort of thing I imagined as well although you've definitely a lot more effort into it and have a great deal of depth. Gotta say I will be utilizing this as a reference for a written work I've recently begun though it's still in the earliest stages, I'll be changing a few details here and there though. If you're interested I could send it along when I've spent more time on it, wouldn't mind the opinion of the individual who solidified what my wolves will be like

now, THIS is how I see werewolves! not those mindless beasts! Hollywood made it all so unreal, (no tail, to human looking etc..) wolves are no man-eaters (maybe in time of war, when there were many corpses.) they should use more bear shifters or tiger shifters, those would be great in stories the hollywood "werewolf" looks like a big ape-human hybrid to me..

you are very talented, so much details

this helped me alot for drawing them! thanks

This is amazing and I love it but I have some questions.
1. How would someone go into the phase by controlling one or how do people become one. Born, or made or something like that.
2. How would one turn human again?
3. Would it be possible to be a non anthro shifter. Like a wolf only? Just wondering.

I love this anatomy reference I'm continuously studying anthros to draw better in a wide creature variety and this helps a lot. Fantastic!

When transformation can be triggered by rage is like how Bruce Banner turns into The Hulk when he gets angry? When it's triggered by physical pain, does that mean they transform when they are pain? How do they have control of their transformation, can they stop a transformation if they don't want it to happen? Does it take experience?

sugarpoultry In reply to rababco [2015-02-27 23:40:33 +0000 UTC]

When they're in pain, they have a harder time controlling the urge to shift. They don't automatically do it, like the Hulk, but it just gets harder to control. Some who aren't strong willed probably do lose control and change.

Would you mind if I us this as a template in a game and put you in the credits?

sugarpoultry In reply to Shadow-of-Christ [2015-02-16 22:12:49 +0000 UTC]

Um, I guess it depends on how exactly you'd use it. If you want to borrow the ideas and anatomy, but make it 100% your own, sure. If you want to take the whole thing and use everything exactly, I don't think I'd want that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shadow-of-Christ In reply to sugarpoultry [2015-02-17 01:37:33 +0000 UTC]

no I'd use my own style but take only a few parts of the anatomy as inspiration and do different things to it (like markings and other things as well) none the less id still give you credit even if i would be using it as a "template" so to speak

I was thinking of starting a YouTube series known as "Scientifically Accurate ", and as far as Werewolves go, this is the closest to truth on hat subject. I will probably use this a reference, while putting my own twist on things. I also plan on Vampires, Dragons, Unicorns, and whatever else comes up. Hell, I may even collect werewolves with other werebeasts, because, as far as I can tell, the information displayed here applies to all werebeasts, such as, but not limited to, Werebears, Werebats, Werebirds, Werelizards, Werecows, Werechickens, and (thank you Wallace and Gromit for this one) the Wererabbit. And yes, such things have been recorded...

I haven't made the videos yet, I'm still on the drawing board (and procrastinating. Okay, a lot). Also, my editing skills need to improve before I do anything crazy. I also need to work on my performance and other skills. Still, I am really hyped to get started, so I'll do scripts real soon!

The way you described the transformation is really awesome! I am writing a thing (there are characters who transform into wolf anthros, not called werewolves exactly, but are basically the same thing) and I am asking if I could use/base the one I will (eventually) write on yours.

I might try to make something related to the information displayed here. I don't know, but I may just be a sucker for Were-beasts and other things... I also don't know when I will start on it, but I m pretty sure it'll be fairly long. So, can I use this as a reference?
