Ive been really really depressed lately and it mostly has to do with my art. Im very disatisfied with it right now and Im in the mist of figuring out why it never comes out like I want it, why Im not happy with them, why I havent progressed AT ALL in the past year, and what the hell am I doing wrong??? Anyway, Im not sure if I like this or not so it might go into scraps latter. And yes, I know its off center and her hair is crap.By the way this is my first hand drawn background EVER.

I think it looks great. If you feel like you're not progressing, try taking a break for a while. I got depressed over my art last year and took a three month break from drawing anime, but read lots of manga and watched tons of anime, and when I eventually tried again I finally managed to improve xD Hope you feel better soon :]

I think this looks wonderful. Your color pencil work is amazing. If I may suggest: you know, sometimes we are progressing but we don't notice it. I know I've had my share of depressive bouts with my art and its hard, but sometimes you just need to get away from it for a while. I know that coming back to a picture later always helps me. And as the others have commeted thus far, this IS awesome, even if you may not think so. Not only did you make something excellent but you managed to add a feeling of longing to it. The mark of a true artist, to place their feeling on to a 2d canvas. Don't feel bad, you'll get back up to speed and a flood of stuff will come to you. i hope you feel better.
