It was like a flurry of birds. Sora felt perhaps he had seen something like it before, on the very edge of memory. In awe, he glanced around at all the shimmering wings. "What are these glowy things? They're everywhere!"

"You can see the Rukh?" Aladdin was a bit surprised.

"The what?"

"The Rukh are souls," Aladdin explained. He was not sure how much this newcomer would understand. But watching the Rukh gather around Sora, Aladdin couldn't help but feel reassured. "They help guide living souls along the flow of fate."

Sora was a bit distracted as one floated past his nose. He stretched his hands out slowly, as if to catch it, and was startled to see it hover above his hand. Several more flew over to join it, flitting around in slow circles in front of him. Sora couldn't help but smile. "Whoa..."

Sora's not always the most eloquent The first little bit in the text is a reference to the opening for Kingdom Hearts 1. I sketched the concept for this ages ago, but I guess taking a few months to get around to coloring a sketch is typical of me...
Please don't pay too much attention to the background... it's a speedpaint of Magnostadt I did in under an hour, peeking at a few screenshots, so this could be more of a proper scene. But it's still really rough.

I've had this idea milling around in my head for a while about a crossover with Magi and Kingdom hearts. I got to thinking about the similarities and differences between the Rukh of the Magi universe and, well, the hearts of Kingdom Hearts. Doing a crossover fic would be a bit ambitious for me. As much as I do like to write, it might be over my head (I've never written fanfiction before). So I may just stick to pictures like this
