I guess it's like a person saying, "Oh, if you go back three generations, on my Dad's mother's cousin's side, I'm related to Obama." Less impressive than it would be to say, "I'm related to Obama!"
If he knew the exact position on the family tree they stood, would he feel pride in it and boost on occasion? Or, he seems to be a rather reserved and modest man, from what I can tell. Maybe he would react the same way he already does?
