You took in a deep breath from the chilly air that nipped at your body, causing you to cuddle closer to him. "Well, he was definitely not his normal self, but..."

"Hey, it's not your fault." Aomine empathized.

"Yeah, but he's a great guy, and I don't want him fretting over me. Especially when I made things clear in the past that no matter what happened, I would still be his friend."

Aomine shook his head and snorted. "Yeah? Maybe that's the problem."

"What do you mean?" You lied. You knew exactly what he meant, but you desired to see the perspective side of Aomine, and see his insight.

"Thankfully, you chose me." He continued "I'm super happy about that, but being with me, yet still being friends with him will only remind him of how he... Lost to me."

"Oh."

You turned your head to face Aomine and he glanced down, ruffling your hair with his arm that cradled your neck closer to him. "I think you may be right, but I can't back out on my word. If anything, he should be the one to decide whether or not he wants to continue being my friend. I made my decision to stay with him, but he should make a decision whether he wants to continue this friendship or not..."

The dark haired male said nor did anything as he listened to you continue on about how Midorima was a great person. You would had thought that he would click his tongue or bonk you in the head to shut up, but maybe he agreed with you. After all, he was the one who stayed next to you during everything.

Suddenly standing up, Aomine shivered at his rushed movements towards the cold air. "Class is going to start. I'm heading out."

"No hug?" You asked with pleading eyes, knowing that he loved the feeling of your body.

"Ha. I can give you much more than that." He smirked cockily.

Before heading off to school, he gave you a sly smile you knew was lewd. Shaking your head in denial, you retorted. "Keep it up and we'll go back to avoiding each other."

Aomine only turned his back and waved off as he made his way into the sidewalks of the town.

"I really do have to keep up with this pervert." You scolded yourself internally.

*Midorima's P.O.V.*

Nanodayo? How long has it been since I've living here at (l/n)'s apartment... Too long. This is ridiculous. I lost my logic over another human being. I gave my efforts to keep her company and it back fired. H-How could I have lost to... Him?

She looked so guilty of her choice because of me. It's not that fair after everything we both went through, she still decided to run off to the gorilla. It's not like he's going to love and care for her like I did and would've.

Why him (F/n)? I loved you, but I was too afraid to say it, and I don't know why. I wasn't afraid of loving you... I was afraid of the rejection.

I've never met someone as intelligent and beautiful as you. I came to uni expecting nothing but education and ended up recieveing this painful sensation in my chest. It hurts. A lot. Like a ton of bricks compressing me tightly.

The tears in his emerald eyes glimmered under the kitchen light. His throat feeling tight as chest, never feeling this devastated before. "Its one thing to lose a baskerball game but losing someone who completes you is another story. I love you... (F/N)" He thought silently as he stood at the front of the sink with his hands holding onto the edge with his head hanging low. Hoping to hide his sadness under the shadow of his body, but the feeling never left.

Tears slowly stained the metallic clean sink with the water of salty droplets.

"(F/N). For the first time in my life, my horoscope has betrayed me. But why not you? You too are a Cancer... Ah, right. I gave you my lucky item a while back: my key necklace."

For the rest of that night, Midorima mourned over the love he had lost. The friendship they both created and lost in an instance.

Like "Let Me Not to The Marraige of Two Minds", he forgave her actions as she created a tempest for the patient man. The man who would wait an eternity.

"Hey (F/N), there's something in the mail for you. It has no return address." The deep voiced male called out to his wife.

"Really? Hmm, I wonder who wrote it. Let me see please."

Aomine walked back hand in hand with his daughter of 2, retrieving the mail from their mailbox in America. "Here babe."

"Mommy, who's it from?"

"I don't know sweetheart. Let's open it and find out, yeah?"

The (h/c) haired toddler nodded in excitement with her big dark blue eyes waiting in anticipation towards her mother.

You read aloud "Hello, (F/n). I hope you are doing well after all these years. I became a doctor for the local hospital and am enjoying every bit of it. Though, at first I thought I would not be able to surpass that obstacle of pain, I realized what you had taught me. There's a brighter tomorrow no matter what. And for that I thank you. Thank you. -Midorima Shintarou."

"Can't believe that bastard still remembers you." Aomine clicked his tongue.

"Aomine!" "Daddy!" You and your daughter said in synchronization.

"S-sorry! Geez, you two are scary." He chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"I thought he would never talk to me again... Thank you Midorima. For the friendship you gave me and the tender love I received as well. I hope you find a lovely wife who cares for you the way you did for me. One who stand your grumpiness too!"
