It's been a while since I've done anything with the Tracy brothers. So here's John enjoying having a few moments with no major emergencies, by floating about outside of Thunderbird 5 (Which I didn't draw because I am incapable). Probably one of the only ponies who can relax whilst out in the vastness of space but there we go. For some reason, I like to think that one of his brothers, probably Scott, is yelling at him down their comms systems trying to get his attention, but failing miserably 'cos he's just completely zoned out to the rest of the universe. Hey, even an astronaut with the responsibilities of an International Rescue member needs a while to relax every once in a while.

His suit is very much based on what he wears in the new show, since in the original they wore more 'realistic' looking space suits, like what astronauts use in the real world, whilst the skin tight pressure suits used in the 2015 cartoon seem a bit more futuristic, plus easier to draw xP I still threw in a little bit of his classic colour lilac from his original 1965 uniform though.
Though drawing this was certainly not simple, the design is relatively complex, but it was still great fun, and I'm really happy with how it looks. John looks so happy and chilled, it's great.

The background is meh. I wanted to add a planet or the moon, heck even a simple comet or something, but I failed at that so it's just stars and a bit of gradient stuff. ><

I kinda want to draw a picture like this for all five brothers, I've already done Gordon, this is John, I can think of something for Scott and Virgil, not sure about Alan though. Hm. I dunno. I'll have a think. Though if I do do pictures like this for the others, it won't be for a while, since I've still got a few drawings to finish before starting up my next batch, and that's already pretty big, (And contains a fair amount of headcannon stuff. ) Though that second batch will contain any commissions and requests I owe, so yeah, just bare with me ><
