Description
Every second is too quick, every minute too short,Every hour too small, taking my ability to be comport.
I stand vigil in the early morning, waiting for you,
When you appear I hold you as I very often do.
Every day is too short but it always will be,
It hurts in the hours that you're not with me.
I lack the words to explain how deep this goes,
I can't say how much but part of you knows..
You and I coalesced into something amazing,
I still find myself agape, awestruck and gazing.
There's no more room in me for a world without you,
No more room to stop these feelings so over-due.
So many things I learn every day we're together,
You have a way of turning dark skies into fair weather
You showed me things I never saw, never even felt at all.
You taught me how to straighten up and how to stand tall.
You have told me things I've never heard,
Oddly significant, the power of just a word.
You make me wake up in the morning to wait,
To give you time to rouse and fully wake.
Every moment without you feels stolen, far too unfair.
Every second I can't see you but know you're still there.
Pretending I don't want to claw through the paper-thin wall,
To drag you to me, to my arms, my most precious of all.
We spend our days together, at time's mercy
No single day will ever be long enough for me
Not when the hour comes and we have to part,
That time that inches closer, as it has from the start.
The time I have to wait for a sign to retire,
Time to go to ground and sleep on my desire.
I suffer through sleep just as I have been,
Suffer 'til I wake and hold vigil to greet you again.
