I loooove that the horizon line is tilted; it makes the piece so much more dynamic, and gives it a lot more atmosphere. And I also love the contrast of colours between the environment and the creature. Very creepy

Excellent! the creature appears very alien - very creepy. But if you examine it enough, it looks like the 'Dark Beast' may be the hippo's dentist! [say "Ahhh hippo!"]
