Wonder Woman, the famed Amazonian heroine, had been reduced to a helpless state. Brainwashed into participating in the latest Metabrawl, victory had been hers after she had decisively knocked out her two opponents in a handicapped match. The announcer had barely declared her the winner when she had collapsed, totally exhausted from her exertions.

After her limp, sweaty body had been conveyed to a gurney, an application of chloroform was administered to insure that the Amazon remained unconscious for transport.

The metabrawl's medical advisor blew a bubble with her chewing gum before she forced open the Amazon's right eyelid and then her left. Each pupil responded to the ceiling lights. Their constriction assured her that, despite clamping the chloroform soaked rag over her mouth and nose for an inordinate amount of time, Wonder Woman likely suffered no brain damage. She sighed, slightly more in relief than disappointment. Roulette, the chairwoman of Metabrawl, could be such a killjoy if the merchandise suffered permanent damage.

"It's my unprofessional opinion," she pronounced in a thick Brooklyn accent, "that Wondie toots is closed for business until further notice." Well aware that the cameras were still rolling, she decided to clarify to prevent Roulette from descending into hissy fit and sending down of her goons. "Don't anyone get their panties in a bunch. Wondie is over and out, not kaput, kapeesh."
