And here we have another one of sonic's forgotten friends who has only appeared in two games and was only seen in the archie sonic comics after his first game appearance. This is ray the flying squirrel. He was one of three characters playable in the arcade game segasonic the hedgehog with sonic (obviously) and mighty the armadillo (another one of sonic's forgotten friends who was only play in three games and was seen more in the archie sonic comics where he and ray have a bond like sonic and tails do.) Ray and mighty would later return after many years in sonic mania as part of the mania plus DLC and they're both pretty fun to play as. I do wish they were in the modern games too along with team hooligan.

As you can see I made him in the style of the adventure/modern/sonic channel style to give off the idea of what he'd look like in the modern series. This idea game about after seeing someone make mighty in the very style (and it looked almost like it was official artwork). Ray's attire is suppose to resemble how he looked in the archie sonic reboot after the megaman crossover and I think this suits him well. I'm quite proud of how this turned out.
