Description
First I just want to say that this is NOT a "dream" as in nightmare, or what you have when you sleep. This is a portrayal of an actual physical aspiration and goal of mine. Exactly what it is, I will leave up to your interpretation and explain in greater detail in my final version . (Though the title is a slight hint )

Now, on to the piece itself!

This is actually my art assignment for this week. We had to draw a piece with four (4) fields of depth; extremely close/closeup, mid range, back ground, and far ground (or something like that. It was to be done on our 18" x 24" pad in charcoal. Oh, and it could be anything we wanted. It didn't have to be a still life, or referenced from something ect.

I'm actually amazed at how well this turned out. There are multiple places that I could have done better, but I'm extremely pleased with how it came together.

I tried to make that one window in the background look as if it had been shattered and was going to do that to the remainder. I guess I just didn't really feel like it though .

Now, something you may notice is that the perspectives seem very, strange. That was entirely intended. It is supposed to look that way. Can't remember what it's called, but basically if you are looking at the bottom of the piece, you would be looking directly ahead. If you are looking at the top of the piece, you would be looking directly above you. Hope that makes some sens .

Yes I do realize the border is not straight, guess I should have actually measured when I drew it .

One last thing, there are 2 symbols hidden in this piece somewhere; a heart and a peace symbol. Can you spot them? (Hopefully the fullview version is detailed enough for them to be seen.)

Time spent on this was about 10 hours total, so not too incredibly long. I still might go back and add something to the far background, it seems kind of plain right now.

Done entirely with charcoal, mostly charcoal pencils.

Oh, and I just wanted to say that this will be very similar to my major entry for this contest. However, there will be two more parts, and it is going to be in color . The finished version will be composed of 3 separate pieces, that can also be pulled together into 1 single, large, work. By my calculations it will be 14" wide x 51" high . Just hope I can get it finished in time .
