Description
Jus wanted to show a dino. I do mostly dromaesaurian-like creatures as thats what Ive been doing since I can remember. I dont make many dinos these days.An opportunistic carnivore will happily take the leftovers of a kill left unatended. Something as small as the velociraptor creature shown here has to look both ways before crossing the pool of blood to feast, just to be sure its original killer isnt still interested.
Edit Feb 2006, finally uploaded a scan with nicer colours, two years after I originally posted it. yeesh.

Excellent! Bold yet subtle. I think the background colours give it great atmosphere, like some kind of dramatic, possibly volcanic, sunset. But that's me.

Sorry for brief and simple comment, but this ABSOLUTELY GREAT WORK! And maybe should reply to ~Dralam himself, but raptors are not Jurassic but Cretaceous dinosaurs...

I think it is good to see some high quality dinosaur art again, especially with this raptor looking fella here.
I am quite curious as to what medias have been used on this particual picture.
I also adore the expression on his face.

Hee hee. People are going to flame me for saying this. But this picture makes me ill. It's not because of the meat, it's the color pallet. The cranberry magenta of the guts along with the olive brown just makes me nauseous (sp?). I really like the highlight on the calf though.

Unusual response but thats funky. (:
I find the colours overall appealing, I supose due to the mutual muted tone they share as well as it being limited to a greeny and a reddy colour. especially with the red, it causes ones eye to flow around a bit. But your opinion.. and frankly your right. x.x. I accepted the blood as being kind magentaish but totally overlooked the sky magenta flowing off of it..
Thank you for pointing that out. Gah! Ill reupload sometime with a more acceptable.. less pinky version. i suppose.
see.. you are a colour specialist. (:
I think thats how its spelt. my meds make me feel like that. q: or somehting does.

That's great! You put amazing detail into the markings and lighting, as well as the surroundings an background. The whole thing is sweet!
I would have thought that with a toe claw like that, it would have been a predator, or is that on most carnivores?

Indeed, it wouldve been a freakish predator. The dromaeosaurids are known for their characteristicly large claws. The inner toe claw there is their prime trade mark. Theyre the only group with it.
... Its a lot of work bringing down food. Any predator would go after the scraps of others kills they come across. Its a little bit like getting something you want for free. Would you give up $40+ for an item when you could just have it handed to you? that is, if you knew where..
and - Thank yous
