Contest: Animatsuri 2011 drawing contest "Steampunk" by Tartu animeclub Asashio Theire homepage->[link] It never made it to the contest. Either it got lost with the post or someone took it, but it never arrived to the hands of the animatsuri staff. :/
Media: watecolours, white acrylic, black markers and white gel penSize: A4Time: sketch ~5-6 hours, lineart ~4 hours, coloring ~14 hoursSTEAMPUNK!
YAY! I got me self a white gel pen! <33 You have no idea how much I love this thing. They rarely ever are in office supplies stores AND it was the last one I got. Wee~ c:
I really love how this one turned out~ The lovely contrast between purples and yellows, the light and shadows and all the details~ Ahh~ I just fell in love with this all over again.
Oh yea. The original works wont be returned. And then I thought... Hell Yea Im gonna write down my DAs username.
I mean, look at it! D: I put far too much effort in it! DD: So at least this drawing is gonna serve me as a "promotional poster". :]
Lulz, should haven used a ruler tho. xD
and if anyones interested, heres my last years entries-> the first one recived a 2-3 place

i love this picture if only my work was that good and i heard for some sources of mine that steam punk has really become popular and you expressed this kind of new move really nicely great job. ^^

Njaww... :c Well, when I paint with watercolours, I always paint in in layers and let the previous layer dry compleatly, before aplying another. That way I avoid the "colour bleeding" thing.
Welp, the best I can say is, that its all in practice.

It's paintings like these that inspire me to become a better painter.
The details are just beautiful, and really deserves the DD.
