Description
This is based on a fairy tale called "The Wedding of Mrs. Fox". Old fairy tales are really weird and sometimes make no sense or have no moral
Like in this one, her husband pretends to be dead to see if she'll cheat on him. But she won't marry any fox who doesn't have nine tails like her "dead" husband...She finally does find one who has nine tails, but her husband jumps off his death bed and destroys everything in the house. The End!

Old fairy tales were often scary stories told by the fire at night, or just random adventure with no real goal.
Stories can be mindless entertainment.

I got a better reference: "If what I think is happening is happening, it better not be."

Just adorable. It actually reminded me of these books I read when I was small called "Fox and His Friends." (Okay. The only similarity is that they're both foxes, but you made me nostalgic, nonetheless.) You can be a children's book illustrator!

My understanding: Mrs. Fox only loved Mr. Fox for his tails. When she finds another fox with 9 tails, she tries to marry him and tells Miss Cat to throw Mr. Fox's corpse outside without a proper funeral. Honestly, I think Mr. Fox's reaction is justified. www.grimmstories.com/en/grimm_…

I've been trying to think about the meaning, but did you know there's two versions of this tale? In the other one she's looking for a specific fox with a pointed mouth and red socks. I think she was cheating with a specific fox and was looking/waiting for him.

Just about as strange as nine tails haha! Apparently the german word for tail "schwanz" was also an obscene euphemism for something else... hmm I wonder what

The Spanish word for "vixen" (or "female fox") "Zorra" can also mean "promiscuous woman" or "woman of questionable or reprehensible moral".

Moral of the story is don't be unfaithful to your dead husband incase he isn't actually dead? Hahaha, and I have a feeling those 'tails' she's so keen on just hint that she will only take a man as… uh... well-equipped as her husband Gotta love Grimms' Fairy Tales
Beautiful image though, well done!

I feel like she wasn't exactly unfaithful because she wanted to find someone who reminded her of her dear husband...LOL the tails part went over my head, but you're right.
Thanks!!
