Edit: Sweet zombie Jesus! Thanks for the DD guys! I'm a little overwhelmed with all the response on this! XD I can't possibly respond to everyone, but THANKS DUDES! Glad you like warping childhood memories just as much as I do!So there's a story behind this picture. I was sitting on the couch playing Overlord when I realized I didn't really wanna be playing video games. I wanted to draw something. But! I had no earthly idea what to draw. So I asked ~StitchedUpRabbit what I should draw. He, being distracted, responded absently, "Candyland." He wasn't being serious.
I was.
And that's about all there is to the story.
As far as characters go, from the left, we have King Kandy, Princess Lolly, Lord Licorice, The Twins, Granma Nut, Mr. Mint, and Queen Frostine. The designs are based off the ORIGINAL Candyland game, not the new politically correct remake. The only design here that I'm not completely satisfied with is Princess Lolly. For some reason, she just didn't end up looking quite like I'd planned.
Drawing this picture has given me entirely too much time to think about this, but... Did you ever notice how everyone in Candyland has reddish/pinkish curly hair except Queen Frostine? She totally must have married into the royal family. She came from some other country and married King Kandy to become Queen. Except she wouldn't marry a fat old man like that just for his fancy beard. She's gotta have some ulterior motives in mind. She's probably scheming with Lord Licorice to overthrow King Kandy and then the two of them can rule Candyland together. They'll probably kill King Kandy and throw his body in Gloppy's massive molasses swamp.
Like I said, too much time to think about it.
By the by, The Twins are the two little kids from the original game art, they're at the starting spot on the board game. Without the guns and katanas, of course.

What of Plumpy? I don't know why but he was always my favorite and I never had the problems of getting stuck neither did my friends sure we would have to go back but only once or twice! I thought he was so cute in a cuddly stufftie kinda way!

I typed "Candyland" in the search engine hoping for some awesome modern reboot - and I was not disappointed! This is awesome! I even love your theories on Frostine's plot with Licorice... it's all very clever. This is really amazing, great job!
