DescriptionWell, I was typing a nice description, but my computer randomly rebooted to install updates without my permission, so I'm not going to bother retyping most of what I had said.In any case, I have been doodling Di a little in class lately and I got some new Zebra F-301 ballpoint pens which I wanted to test out (since I lost the awesome pen I stole from the kitchen like three years ago). My scanner scans things super grainy and I'm far too lazy to mess with the settings right now.
Of course this is back when Di had horns and two arms. I figured I should draw Yoi and Di together. Interpret how you like. Maybe I'll type the story some other time (probably not)

^_^ No problem, I can safely say you draw alot better then me, but I have a thing about proportions. I'm glad you didn't take it to offense or anything. The character designs are amazing, I'd love to draw them myself with your permission, but I need a scanner that works or atleast a tablet XDD

The story is a bit difficult to explain really. It has to do a lot with the inner conflict that Di (the young one) is enduring.
Di is a complicated person. He has instincts that tell him to kill, but a mind that doesn't like to kill. He generally isolates himself from others, in fear that he will lash out at them unwillingly. The pink haired guy (his great uncle, Yoi) is in many ways a father figure to him and is comforting him here. Di has attacked him and feels deep guilt and regret. Yoi, of course, forgives him as he always will and consoles him.
Yoi will not die, as he is the essence of life, so he isn't too worried about Di's uh. . . horns.

This isn't the first time Di has impaled someone with his face, so it isn't too long before he breaks his horns off. However, he does recover a bit when he's older, seen here [link] . It helps that he actually has one or two people who support him.

I remember I saw this picture a long time ago when I had my old account, and I was re-going through my favorites and I found this again...I just had to take another look at it. It's possibly my favorite thing I have in my favorites currently, and I couldn't miss the opportunity to re-fave and comment again.
I just love the atmostphere of this picture--the emotions are so very intense. Sadness, despair, but also tenderness and comfort. I enjoy the grainy, soft look of it, too.
And also the little details--like the bit of gore clinging to Di's horn as it comes out of Yoi's back (it sounds really bad when i type it out...) but it's lovely (oh dear, that sounds bad, too...).

I know I commented on this already, but I still have this deviation in my inbox so that means I have not commented sufficiently to let it go. I love this picture oh so freakin' much. 
I like how your highlights look like little droplets (though I think the intensity is unnecessary at the bottom under the shadow of Di's arm). I also love the cracked cement feeling of the textured background.
I love how Yoi's face cannot be seen behind his hair and Di's can (if Di's face was also hidden then his intentions look more malicious). It makes you curious about Yoi: Is he calm? In shock? In pain? In tears?
If you want to add to this picture in any way, I think it needs more negative space to the right. Enough so that Yoi and Di are centered in the image as key figures, and so your eye takes more time to see OH MY GOD BLOOD. But too much negative space would make the image seem too hopeless and empty, so this is a good crop to get the close-up feeling.

Ok, I need to hit myself. This is a sad/really powerful image here, but after realizing that was his horn sticking through Yoi's back, I got this silly image of how difficult it would be to get it OUT of his chest. I mean, he'd be kinda stuck... It's kinda hard to pull anything out of a deep stab wound cause of the muscles' tendency to clench around the intruding object, etc... okay I'm stopping there. >_>; Anyway I was imagining something silly not unlike someone getting his horns stuck in a tree or something...

Haha. I'd imagnie that the amount of blood there would make it a little easier to pull the horns out of his chest, especially since the horns are smooth and not textured :c Plus, Yoi is most likely completely relaxed (he knows he wont die anyway)
