This is something I did for the new exchange group --> ! I helped cofound it and its first exchange was March-April. I obviously a little late, due to unforeseen events, but I hope the result is worth it.

This is Kyyraneth 's character of the same name, whom I hear enjoys sunrises. The themes I went with for this drawing were "Calm" and "Sitting" but i think I covered "climbing" and "laying" too, haha.

It's been a while since I've logged into DA. Busy with work and such. So yeah, I'm happy to see that Shin is still Shin.

Awesome work with a great contrast of colors. Typically, such things can only be produced by a sunrise. The shadowing, depth of field are nice. I did notice the luminance from the translucent leaves and wings. Excellent details that are quite difficult to reproduce properly.

This is very beautiful! I have a question though. For your inking process on this particular piece; did you use a pen and then scan it into the work and manipulate it with your program, or did you ink digitally? Sorry, I'm just curious. ^^

Ack, I really have to doodle up my character for you to breathe awesomeness into at some point.

It's just that I so far suck at making things look 3D, except when modelling (with clay or some such).
I was at one point thinking of that I might just describe the looks in text, but that would leave so much open to guesswork and all that, so that's a no-go...
I just have to get up and do it at some point... But then the big question, how?

I just love this! The shading and highlights are absolutely stunning (I'm a big lover of dramatic lighting, and the colour scheme here just adds to how gorgeous the whole scene is)
Also, I'll always admire the way you can make the joints in the wings look so... real, that's not really a good word to use but getting the joints in the wings all lined up correctly is something I struggle with, so hopefully I'll be able to learn from staring at your art
