I've always wanted to draw statues. I feel like the way they interact with light is the kind of look I'd love to render in paint, but it's hard to come up with any idea interesting and relevant to the medium of something being immortalized in stone, so I never really did any.________________________________________________________________

This is very nice!!! The highlights of colour remind me of GUWEIZ's art where her character's jewellery or other specific small elements are lighted up. You could also say it's a bit like Kintsugi as AnDLV mentioned but this is a much better version (more like this: paigebradley.com/images/sculpt… ) and she looks as though she's trying to catch the tears/blood from her wounds.

Only using gold and white fits pretty well for a statue I feel and the paint dripping from the broken arm is a nice touch too I'd say

the gold blood makes me think of the ichor blood of ancient gods, and I think that helped portray your theme of immortalizing something, considering gods are immortal no matter how physically broken they might be, really interesting concept!
also really well excecuted, the way the light reflects off of the gold itself in contrast to the matte light of the statue itself! absolutely love it!! ^^

I was just going to say that it looked like a statue! I like how there's a kind of mystery to it - cuz you could take it either way, like the arm was broken off and the rest scoured as an act of vandalism or it was deliberately sculpted like that.
I kind of like imagining the latter, because the idea of a statue bleeding gold when someone defaces it is really magical and mysterious...

ohh reminds me of gold dusting ancient antiques. I have thought about it with there being silver dusting as well. The mantra of gold dusting has always gotten to me as a philosophical topic of beauty for the time period. Lovely work.
