Description
I'm assuming that anyone that reads this has at least a basic understanding of how it works. Otherwise, I described some technical aspects of how I worked as well as a bit of basic technique. C: I hope this helps you! I remember when I was learning and how sad I was when there weren't tutorials around of what I needed.(He kinda has a derpy face still lol I might go in and fix it tomorrow)

atm I've been using a cintiq, and before that, and when I'm on my laptop, I use a wacom intuos 3 C: To sketch I use the brush mentioned here [link] at the top of the tutorial. I just drag the minimum diameter to 1% and set it to pen pressure or brush tilt, depending on my mood C:
Hope that helped a bit, it is pretty weird at first to get used to the disconnect between your hand and the screen, but it gets easier, promise! I used to be dreadful XD

CS6, though I used to use Photoshop Elements and before that paint shop pro and Open Canvas. But that was years ago lol You might hear a lot of crap about CS6, but I like it better than CS5 by leagues and miles. Also, if you do get PS, make sure you have a computer that can handle it! If not, you will be super sad when it doesnt' work (Speaks from experience, I was saaaadd ddaaayy)

For CS6, for a student copy it was $199. The regular version costs something stupid, like $500 or something crazy, so go with the student version, everyone I know seems to, and it's not any different. And no problem! Hope this helped C:

I always heard about the spacing issue but never knew where to turn it off... This is the first tutorial that actually helped me find it, thanks.

no problem C: I remember when I was starting out I was so pissed until I finally figured out where to go. If my screen capture program wasn't broken I would have done that instead to make it clearer. Damn thing won't capture any menu's in photoshop.
