I guess we'll never know what kind of life Trixie had before she decided to become a magician. But I can see that she does feel remorse for what happened to Starlight Glimmer.

That does seem to be what she's feeling based on the situation and what she's willing to do here. I'm not sure if Hasbro really intended for it to come across this way, but it pretty well did.

Yeah as Hasbro and the writers are pretty much denying that she is suicidal. Most likely the suicidal part is unintentional.
